I have been a little too cautious in the recent past with the result that we have missed some early gains in stocks such as Coeur Mining and Hecla Mining which have already started to take off over the past few days, although on the other hand we neatly dodged the nasty correction from mid-October and have picked up several stocks at very good prices in recent days. The sector has held support at its 50-day moving averages (gold, GLD, GDX, silver, SLV) and now looks poised to embark on a very large upleg – and GDX already broke higher yesterday, even if it hasn’t made new highs yet.
I concur with the views expressed by Mario in his video on silver posted yesterday entitled Silver Breaches Major Line in the Sand for as we will see when we look at silver’s chart later, not only has it held above its rising 50-day moving average, but the pattern since the October peak has morphed into a bullish Ascending Triangle with breakout looking imminent.
Once silver breaks above $55 I expect it to go into “meltup mode” – why? – because this breakout will finally see it break clear out of the gigantic 45-year long Cup & Handle base pattern that we looked at a while ago. This meltup will see it ascend steeply, becoming overbought and staying overbought as it climbs rapidly higher. PM stocks, especially silver stocks, will soar.
What to do? –you can confidently buy back any better and stronger stocks that we took profits in earlier and you should not be put off buying the big quality silver stocks like Coeur Mining, Hecla Mining and Pan American Silver etc by the fact that they have risen sharply in recent days, for this silver meltup will see them ascend to levels that few can imagine today.
As I have to travel today I don’t have time to add charts but will endeavour to do so as soon as possible. However there is time to add the earlier posted THE CHART OF THE AGES which will be updated later. On this chart we can see why the breakout above $55 is significant and why we can expect it to lead to an enormous epochal advance.
End of update.
